For Your Eyes Only in Brussels

The exhibition “For Your Eyes Only” presents paintings of internationally known painters whose work has never or rarely been exhibited in Belgium – and can now be watched in the very center of the Belgian capital. Pieces shown in the gallery of De Markten include works by Pia Dehne(D),Maureen Gallace(USA),Tina Gillen(B),Alona Harpaz(Il),Kati Heck(D),Mary Heilmann(USA),Dorothy Iannone(USA),Viviane Klagsbrun(B),Kirsten Lampert(D),Andrea Lehmann(D),Annick Lizein(B),Ellen de Meutter(B),Marilyn Minter(USA),Esther Stocker(AU),Cindy Wright(B). The exhibition has been curated by Hans Theys, “For Your Eyes Only is a group show with works by fifteen artists“, says Theys. “The show’s concept’ boils down to the desire to see real works, not reproductions. The main purpose is to bring these real works to the public, but also to artists, especially young artists, who don’t have the means to travel.“
